Introduction

Top Hat, WINNER of 3 Laurence Olivier awards including "Best New Musical", "Best Theatre Choreographer", and "Best Costume Design" brings the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age and the glorious, tap-dancing magic of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to the stage in one of the greatest dance musicals of all time.

Packed full of Irving Berlin’s greatest hits including, Cheek to Cheek, Top Hat, White Tie & Tails, Let’s Face the Music & Dance and Puttin’ on the Ritz, Top Hat tells the story of Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the heart of society girl Dale Tremont. An uplifting and hilarious romantic comedy celebrating 1930s song, style and romance, Top Hat dazzles with over 200 beautiful costumes, breathtaking dance and a love story that will set the pulse racing!!

ALAN BURKITT(Jerry Travers)

Alan has recently been starring as Jerry Travers in the UK tour of Top Hat. (BBC)
Alan was born in Canterbury and trained at Performers College.

Theatre credits: original West End cast of Top Hat (Aldwych Theatre); Singin’ in the Rain (Chichester Festival Theatre); Andy Lee in 42nd Street (Chichester Festival Theatre/Curve Theatre, Leicester); the Prince in Adam Cooper’s Shall We Dance (Sadler’s Wells Theatre); Cats (understudy Rum Tum Tugger and Munkustrap, German tour); featured artist in Viva la Diva (UK arena tour and DVD release); We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre, London); Movin’ Out (understudy Tony, Apollo Victoria Theatre); Crazy for You (understudy Bobby Child, UK tour); One Touch of Venus (Opera North, UK tour and Sadler’s Wells); The Ha’penny Bridge (the Point, Dublin); Santa Claus – the Musical (the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton); featured artist in Ol’ Blue Eyes (Alhambra Theatre, Dunfermline); Children Will Listen (Theatre Royal Drury Lane) and tap soloist in Sondheim’s 75th birthday celebrations (Hackney Empire/BBC Radio).

Television credits: The Sound of Musicals (Channel 4); Strictly Come Dancing, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, Dancing in the Streets, Children in Need and Blue Peter (BBC); An Audience With Kylie Minogue (ITV) and assistant choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance in 2011 (BBC).

Choreography credits: Strictly Come Dancing 2014 (BBC); Fascinating Aida: Charm Offensive (UK tour); Strictly Come Dancing 2013 (BBC) and assistant choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance 2011 (BBC).

Alan teaches jazz and tap at various colleges in and around the London area.

CHARLOTTE GOOCH(Dale Tremont)

Charlotte trained professionally at Laine Theatre Arts.
Charlotte has been touring the UK for the last year playing the role of Dale Tremont in Top Hat and is delighted to be bringing the show to Japan.

Other theatre credits include; Penny Johnson in Dirty Dancing (West End and first-ever National Tour); Dale Tremont in Top Hat ( Aldwych Theatre London) Patty Simcox, also understudying and playing Sandy in Grease (UK Tour); Bombalurina in Cats (European Tour); Penny Johnson in Dirty Dancing (Theatre am Potsdamer Platz, Berlin); Tantomile in Cats (Musical Dome, Cologne and Alte Oper, Frankfurt ); Dirty Dancing (Aldwych Theatre, London); The Workshop of Swing Time (Dancing in the Dark- Duet with Anton du Beke); Fly with the Stars (London Palladium); the title role in Cinderella (De La Ware Pavillion)

Other credits include; featured dancer in upcoming British film Meet Pursuit Delange; The Ted Baker A/W14 campaign; Children In Need (BBC1); Television Commercials for NTL/ Sky and CSL, and whilst in Germany; The Oliver Pocher Show (Sat 1); The Carmen Nebel Show (ZDF) as a featured dancer with The Deutsches Show Ballet.
