About Umeda Arts Theater

Umeda Arts Theater (UAT), located in Osaka, Japan, is part of the Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group which operates various businesses, including urban transportation, real estate, and entertainment. In addition to owning two railway companies linking Osaka to nearby cities, the group has also been a leading force in Japan’s entertainment industry, managing the professional baseball team Hanshin Tigers as well as Billboard Japan. One of the group's major businesses in the entertainment sector is the management of the Takarazuka Revue, a renowned all-female revue company with a legacy spanning more than 100 years. Additionally, UAT produces an impressive line-up of around 10 productions each year – sometimes more – featuring a diverse mix of musicals, straight plays, and concerts. In total, the group boasts one of the largest audiences in the Japanese performing arts industry. UAT strives to inspire and bring excitement to audiences internationally through a wide range of live entertainment. Expanding its international presence, UAT established a UK subsidiary, Umeda Arts Theatre UK Limited, in 2025.
